A successful flash mob in the subway with classical music

Passengers on the Copenhagen Metro enjoyed a successful classical concert. A really successful one Flash mob in the subway of the classical radio.

In April 2012, Copenhagen Phil (Sjællands Symfoniorkester) surprised passengers on the Copenhagen metro with Grieg's Peer Gynt. The Flash Mob was created in collaboration with Radio Klassisk radioclassisk.dk created.

All music was performed and recorded on the subway. The Copenhagen Metro is very quiet and the recording you hear is where the train is standing still.

That's why the recording you hear is so clean and crisp - and the sound is actually surprisingly good on the Copenhagen subway. We did this consciously because we believe that a good sound experience is vital when attempting to represent the actual experience of that day.

After the main shot, when the train was stationary, the footage from the cameras was mixed into the sound as much as possible.

Quote from the sound engineer: I recorded the sound using XY Oktava MK-012 supercardioid microphones near the soloists and a set of DPA 4060 omnidirectional microphones, which serve as overhead for the rest of the orchestra.

The camera marks (Sennheiser ME 66) were added for some close-ups.
