Inspirational video about treasure divers

In the muddy bed of Thailand's "River of Kings", the Chao Phraya, there are still many hidden treasures, diver Somchai Panthong is certain.

The 50-year-old makes a living from collecting all kinds of finds from the river in the middle of Bangkok – from antiques to scrap metal – and selling them.

Together with his nephew Tding, he searches for what traders, monks and warlords have sunk, lost and hidden in the Chao Phraya over the centuries.

Somchai and Tding can dive wherever currents and water levels allow.

Their territory extends from the north Bangkok's about the center to the port in the southwest.

At the end of the rainy season, however, you have to limit yourself to sheltered dive sites with little current - otherwise you risk it live.

But the many ships on the Chao Phraya, which is one of Bangkok's main traffic arteries, can also be dangerous for divers.

The men hoist a flag to draw attention to themselves with their small boat and the equipment they have built themselves. Somchai Panthong needs good luck now, because by the start of the diving season most of his saved money has been used up.

What will the daring treasure hunters find?
