Where is your furniture – metaphor for letting go
In the last century, a tourist from the United States visited the famous Polish Rabbi Hofetz Chaim.
He was surprised to see that the rabbi only lived in a simple room full of books. The only furniture was a table and a bench.
“Rabbi, where is your furniture?” asked the tourist?
“Where are yours?” Hofetz replied.
Mine? But I'm just here for a visit. I’m just passing through,” said the American.
“Just like me,” said the rabbi
